I'm actually lookin forward to seeing them get in the ring with a bigger hitter like LSU and seein how they fair....
I'm not just saying this to deffend my Tigers, but I think they got bush-whacked by a top 5 team the first game of the year, but we'll just have to wait and see
If Bama can get LSU, I am confident AU can get Bama...the LSU game is a yearly toss up for Auburn. I honestly think Auburn can beat UGA this year as well.

Who's fault is that? Miami's always been open to a yearly series with both UF and FSU in the same season, never backed down from it. Your AD's & head coaches over the years have been scared to make it a yearly series. Had it been that way--the mid-90's may have looked bad for Miami--but the rest of the time up to the Coker era we would have owned UF over that timespan--I'm almost sure of it.
And yeah--they're in the running for a national title--but they'll drop a game or two to somebody--I'd be scared of LSU and UGA for sure if I were you, and possibly even Vandy if they keep their stuff together.
I want a matchup for Miami against an SEC team, any SEC team, in a bowl game this year. If they win--it's huge for recruiting and for the team morale going into next year. If they lose--it's great experience for the current players and I guarantee you they'll compete closely, meaning they'd still draw a good bit of karma for recruiting.
If memory serves me right your Canes got an SEC team in a Bowl game back in 2005, the Peach Bowl I believe it was and got their asses handed to em like 40-3 by LSU so you might wanna watch what ya wish for.
Not only would UF have owned Miami in the mid 90's they would have owned Miami the past 4 or 5 years as well. So you wont be talking soo much about Florida only beating em every 23 years, it would be pretty even if you ask me.
One more thing, no way am I worried about Vandy at all. They will not compete with UF dont even deserve to be on the same field. LSU and UGA, I give ya those 2 as they will be good games as most games are in the SEC where its a dog fight all season long. Any team make it out of that war with only 1 loss is damn sure deserving of a National Title bid.

Go one more year back when we still had some of Butch's boys that he recruited--if memory serves ME right, I believe we handled those Gaytors rather easily in that same venue. That next year, LSU was loaded and the Canes were Cokerized--had no motivation and the talent level was going downhill in a hurry.
There's two parts of Hurricanes history that weren't dominant, during/post probation, and the Coker era. Take away those 2 stretches and Miami's easily the most dominant program of the past 25-30 years, i.e.--the modern era of college football.
After that all bets are off b/c it was Coker's team--any of those teams from 2004-2007, I would have definitely conceded victory to UFag.
In the end, it doesn't matter because none of the AD's nor Spurrier/Zook wanted a series against Miami--too scared. Hell, Meyer wouldn't agree to a series with Miami until we conceded having SEC refs for their home game a few weeks ago--and we see how that helped out.
